Description: |
The Technical Writer interacts extensively with the Business Analyst team to develop, write, and edit project documentation, including user guides, administrator's guides, release notes, training materials, configuration guides, and assists with office administration. This resource is also responsible for coordinating and collaborating with the development team through the product-lifecycle process to collect information, meet documentation requirements, and assist in product development. The writer must manage multiple concurrent assignments to meet established deadline.

Duties: |
The Technical Writer will collaborate with Business Analysts to produce project documentation with responsibilities to include:
Technical Writing Duties
Participating in information gathering activities
Developing accurate and well-organized project documentation to include: user guides, administrator's guides, release notes, training materials and configuration guides
Establishing a documentation review and approval process and schedule in coordination with the Project Manager
Editing all project documentation according to approved changes
Establishing an archive of edited documents
Delivering final documents to the Project Manager for printing

Qualifications: |
Required Skills and Abilities
3 to 4 years of technical writing and editing experience
Ability to complete project documentation including:
o Meeting minutes
o JAD session documentation
o Technical specifications
o Workflow narrative and diagrams
o Test scripts
o System documentation
o Users and administrator's guides,
o Training materials and configuration guides
Ability to edit and proofread technical information
Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat Professional, MS Word and MS Visio
Capable of consulting developers, programmers, quality assurance specialists, and other subject matter experts to define product functionality
Capable of performing effectively as a team member
Ability to work with all levels of management and staff
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Self motivated and driven to success
Able to work independently with little supervision
Demonstrated ability to resolve issues from start to finish
Ability to accommodate limited travel
Proficiency in MS Office Suite of tools (Word, Excel, etc.)
Ability to keep information confidential
