Brand Manager

Description:

Support the application and marketing of the Boar’s Head Brand, reporting directly to the Director of Marketing.

Duties:

•Analyze the existing marketing programs and recommend changes and new progress.
•Work with Zone Directors to develop regional and retailer marketing programs.
•Lead the development of marketing programs and roll out programs to distributors.
•Develop appropriate marketing strategies, identify media vehicles, employ and direct the services of advertising and media agencies, and manage campaigns to achieve goals.
•Provide Standard and “Event” results evaluation and reporting with the assistance of Sales Information Systems Analyst, in cooperation with all above named personnel and distributors.
•Research and documentation of advertising and marketing historical information-all markets
•Consider marketing decisions at the corporate and retail levels in order to best position, and to prevent compromising of the Boar’s Head Brand.
•Provide sales personnel and distributors with product specific promotional and campaign recommendations for standard (52 weeks a year) and for special events.
•Design and/or commission, and effect the ordering of all point of purchase material
•Commission and manage all art direction and copy writing.
•Review design of all branded material whether labeling, point of purchase, haberdashery, merchandising or marketing and advertising in order to maintain the integrity of the brand in a manner consistent with the position and image of the brand.
•This function requires that both regularly scheduled and “as needed” reviews of materials can be conducted, and that no branded material of any description can be ordered by haberdashery, sales or other departments without prior approval of design by Brand Manager.
•The Brand Manager will design and/or commission all branded signage and construction of same (such as marquees or kiosks or stores within a store) whether for general application or for specific distributors or retailers. Work will be conducted in cooperation with Sales Directors and other key department personnel.
•Act in cooperation with Product Research and Development to improve existing products, and to identify new product needs and ideas, and to help the production department bring out new products in a timely way.
•This requires the Brand Manager be informed of common domain information in the category by utilizing publications, computerized information services, seminars, trade shows, retail visits, etc, in order to not only keep abreast of current activities in the market, but more particularly, in order to perform the above described marketing activities for the company with creativity and innovation.
•Be a key communicator with legal counsel regarding all trademark matters
•The Brand Manager will communicate directly, as needed with distributors and at the request of sales account personnel, regarding point of purchase material and account specific advertising, its production and placement.
•Interact with New York and other advertising agencies on all advertising activity.
•Represent Boar’s Head on all production of print and broadcast media.
•Conduct and report competitive product and collateral materials research and blend findings with above job functions.
•Commission the design of survey and research projects as needed.

Qualifications:

•MBA preferred
•3-5 years job related experience in the sales and marketing for leading CPG companies.
•Retailer marketing with premium retailers (Publix, Kroger, Safeway, HEB etc), brand marketing experience with Fortune 100 CPG firm. (Experience in category management and foodservice marketing a plus)
