Description: | 1) To guide and teach children in an inclusive, developmentally appropriate classroom.
2) Develop and implement lesson plans based on assessments of children and their individual developmental goals.
3) Conduct developmental assessments and assist with referral to specialized services for children with developmental needs.
4) Maintain classroom environment with developmentally appropriate learning areas according to quality standards.
5) Complete program paperwork including attendance, children's portfolios, assessments and goals for children, lesson plans including evaluation of activities.
6) Supervise children at all times so as to provide a safe, healthy learning environment. Document all accident/incidents in a timely manner.
7) Provide good customer service.
| Duties: | Specific job functions include, but are not limited to:
1) Systematically assess children's needs, plan for individual goals, and maintain a portfolio of each child's accomplishments.
2) Arrange and maintain the classroom environment according to accrediting agency and licensing guidelines.
3) Oversee implementation of quality curriculum, lesson plans, and daily activities in the classroom.
4) Foster and maintain excellent relationships with families.
5) Participate in professional development opportunities as required.
6) Actively participate in parent and staff meetings when required.
7)Perform other duties as assigned to maintain high quality standards in keeping with accreditation and oversight agency requirements and recommendations.
| Qualifications: | BA/BS degree in Early Childhood Education. If degree is out of field - a minimum of 18 credits in Early Childhood Education is required.
40 Hour Child Care Certification (or appropriate waiver).
Five (5 )Hour Literacy Certificate.
CPR/1st Aide,
Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) training certificate,
Curriculum Training Certificate.
2 Years experience working with young children. |
